Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Lisa Engelke's Bio
Lisa Engelke is a young, devoted wife and mother of two young children. She is also a Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer Survivor. She was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in February 2015 at the age of 35, a type that is more aggressive in women under 40 that does not respond well to chemotherapy, radiation or conventional drugs. Out of all breast cancer types, approximately 15% are TNBC and it has the lowest 5-year relative survival rate of only 14%. She was told, those 5 years (or less) would not be pretty, and that those treatments would “guarantee a second cancer”.
After being diagnosed in 2015, Lisa launched herself into a career of independent research to search for a cure because conventional medicine in this country did not offer many options for her case. But because of the aggressive nature of the disease, Lisa had to integrate treatments and many surgeries were to come in the future to buy time.
Lisa has dedicated the last three years to her research and educating others on how to be an advocate for their own health. She is such a positive light for others, while being a mother of two young children and a wife to her husband. Lisa’s passion is writing and public motivational speaking and has already attended & recorded speaking events to spread her word of Hope.
Lisa is now facing stage IV disease and is in a very weak state. We hope to raise enough funds to send her to a clinic that can offer her the medicines that she needs. Unfortunately, because of the tight rules from the FDA, these places all reside outside of the United States and are all “out of pocket”.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
