Jane Hodges

Breast Cancer

Jane Hodges's Bio

Jane Hodges, 42 years old, is an amazing sister, aunt, friend and, most of all, daughter. Although she grew up in Silver Spring and most recently lived in Frederick for over 10 years, she has dedicated the last 20 months caring for her bedridden father (94 years old) at his home in South Carolina. She has literally sacrificed her life to help her mother care for him on a 24/7 basis. While she has been able to work part-time at a local restaurant, it has been an enormous financial strain on her even before her recent diagnosis on May 22, 2014. Only three weeks after a “normal” annual breast exam, she found a lump in her left breast. Subsequent tests confirmed she has breast cancer. Her diagnosis – Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Triple Negative, is considered an aggressive cancer. She is now not only caring for her father, but in need of help herself.

She has bravely completed 6 rounds of chemotherapy while continuing to care for her dad and will undergo a bi-lateral mastectomy on October 22, 2014. She will be unable to work as she recovers and faces mounting medical bills. Please consider supporting this selfless woman with your prayers and resources!! Thank you.
