Debbie Long's Bio

In February 2011, Debbie had a mastectomy.  As a result of her surgery, Debbie developed a blood clot in stomach and as a result was in a coma for 3 months.  Her hospital stay was over a year.  She endured rehab for months with feeding tube and numerous infections.  The medications she was taking started destroying her organs.

In July 2013, Debbie received a five organ transplant – large & small intestine, stomach, pancreas and liver.  It was touch and go for 7 months were she was in the ICU.  Debbie started dialysis because she was septic which destroyed her kidneys. In October 2015, she received a kidney due to organ failure. Debbie’s struggles continued on Mother’s Day 2017 when she entered Georgetown Hospital with pneumonia and was hospitalized for 3 weeks.  Over all she has been in the hospital for 3 months.

In January 2018, Debbie’s parked car was hit by a woman who stole a car and had no insurance.  Debbie has no money for a car or car payment. She is on disability and can’t work.  She is struggling to pay her bills and lives a very humble life. Through all this she is the very happy individual with a good outlook on life. She says God isn’t finished with her yet!  It is our hope that though the Patty Pollatos Fund you can help us raise the monies to purchase a used car, so she can get back and forth to doctor visit.
