Michael R. Maillis, 48, of Frederick, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016 after an extended illness. – See more at: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/fredericknewspost/obituary
Michael Maillis is single and 49 years old. He has been a resident of Frederick County for 12 years. At the age of 20 he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and as a result has dealt with many medical issues. In early 2015 Mike’s right leg was amputated. In January of 2016 his left leg also had to be amputated. His kidneys are not functioning and must be maintained by dialysis three times a week. Due to hospitalizations, multiple surgeries and rehabilitation, he has not seen his home, in Frederick, since November 12, 2014.
He has been unable to work. The medical bills along with a reduced income have put an enormous strain on his financial situation.
Our hopes are that Mike’s focus be on healing not on the stresses of his difficult financial situation. He is seeing some positive progress and is hopeful but takes one day at a time. He wants to thank everyone for adding to each day of his life by praying for him, sending cards, and helping financially.
