Darlene Little Fund

Darlene Little (age 48) found a lump in
her lower stomach in June of 2008. After
going to her gynecologist and having
test run it was discovered that she had
ovarian cancer. Surgery was scheduled
for June 28, 2008.
The surgeon started with laposopic
surgery to see what exactly was going
on. At the time the mass was so large
and attached to her organs. It was
unsafe for the surgeon to operate at
that time. Two days later he started
Darlene on 2 types of chemo.
After 18 weeks the tests showed that the
tumer and cancer should be reduce. A
second surgery was scheduled for January
12, 2009. The surgeon again started with
the laposopic surgery. This time there
was no tumor in the way and the surgery
was deemed a success.
Darlene still has to undergo another 18
weeks of double chemo. This round of
Chemo ends approximately the end of
July. She is single and unable to
work while she is undergoing treatments.
Her boyfriend has been paying her bills
for her since July 2008.

Mission Statement
The Patty Pollatos Fund, Inc. is an independent and
non-sectarian 501(c)(3) and community-based non-profit that operates
with an all-volunteer workforce to educate and assist local families and
individuals in Maryland about economic opportunities, raise funds and
assist in raising funds for families during the temporary financial
strain caused by cancer, spinal cord injuries, heart, liver or kidney
transplants which knows no income level. We stand in the gap for other
non-profits in their hour of need and we also provide assistance, as
needed, with national disasters.
