Silver Story

Sherry Silver is a 28
year old mother of four that was just
diagnosed with two liver diseases which
one is called hemochromatosis. In other
words it is an over load of iron in the
liver. Hemochromatosis is not easy to
diagnose, as it is not revealed in
routine blood work. Serum iron, which is
a more common test used to evaluate iron
levels, is not considered reliable for
diagnosis of hemochromatosis. Being told
your iron levels are normal does not
mean that they are.
Sherry became very
sick where they thought she was going to
die. They also did many tests and found
the hemochromatosis. This is a tragic
health situation, because the effects of
hemochromatosis can be devastating.
Including: hypothyroidism, chronic
fatigue, infertility, arthritis,
diabetes, sudden heart attack, primary
liver cancer, and liver/heart failure
resulting in the need for a liver and
/or heart transplant if not treated.
She is going to
need blood transfuses to get the iron
out, and then have a blood transfuse
every two to three months for the rest
of her life. This has really taken a
toll on her children not knowing what is
going on with their mommy. Do to her
insurance not paying for all medicines,
she is in need of help with her bills
plus any medicines that she may need.
She was diagnosed with this in August of
2008, and now has used up any savings
she had.
