My
name is Brenda Marie Nash. I was
born in Prince Georges County Maryland
and was raised one of twelve children.
As you can imagine, that definitely made
for some fun times growing up. In my
younger days I enjoyed playing sports
including soccer, basketball, softball
and track. In 1981 I received my
respiratory therapy degree which I love
doing and hope to get back to soon.
I
stayed in the Cheverly MD area until my
husband Richard (we married in 1988) and
I decided we wanted al little more
country living so we moved to beautiful
Frederick County In 2005.
On
January 17th, 2011 I received the news
that I have Stage 4 breast cancer with
metastasis to both lungs. I will be
going through extensive therapy which
involves at least 6 months of
chemotherapy followed by 28 days of
radiation therapy and then surgery.
After all that is said and done it will
be a lifetime of monitoring with further
treatments as needed. Although they tell
me my prognosis is poor, I wake up and
thank God for another day to spend with
all those I love. I also thank him
for all the prayers I’ve received from
my beautiful family and friends and
especially for my husband Rick who along
with my four-legged furry family, our
dogs Dewd and Shep, have been by my side
each and every day. They bring me so
much joy, love, and happiness each time
I see their smiling faces (and wagging
tails).
Having that and my faith in God gives me
a great will to live!

Mission Statement
The Patty Pollatos Fund, Inc. is an independent and
non-sectarian 501(c)(3) and community-based non-profit that operates
with an all-volunteer workforce to educate and assist local families and
individuals in Maryland about economic opportunities, raise funds and
assist in raising funds for families during the temporary financial
strain caused by cancer, spinal cord injuries, heart, liver or kidney
transplants which knows no income level. We stand in the gap for other
non-profits in their hour of need and we also provide assistance, as
needed, with national disasters.
