Alaina was a thriving baby born at
8lbs11oz. and very healthy. At her 6
month well baby visit her pediatrician
heard a heart murmur and sent her to a
pediatric cardiologist. After completing
an EKG and ECHO he felt confident that a
cardiac cauterization would fix her
pulmonary valve. On July 7th Alaina had
her cardiac cauterization and 4 hours
later the family was told it was much
more serious than they first
anticipated. Alaina was then diagnosed
with supravavular pulmonary sternosis,
mild aortic stenosis and peripheral
stenosis. Our next step would be open
heart surgery. After talking to several
people and doing research Alaina's
parents found a specialist that widens
arteries. Dr. Hanley is located at
Stanford University in Palo Alto CA.
Alaina is scheduled for open heart
surgery on September 15th. Prayers are
much appreciated. |
