Hi, My name is Ashlyne Marie Will... and this is my story.

In mid March 2007 I developed a rash that covered my entire body, my parents took me to my pediatrician's office and were told it was something viral and to let it run its course. Several days later I started having a runny nose and wet cough. My mom called the doctor and was again told it was viral, just let it run its course. Almost a week after the cold developed, I began throwing up. My mom took me back to the doctors office and was once again told it was something viral and to brace for a long weekend. On Monday my symptoms were not getting better, they were worse and I had not eaten at this point for five days. She called the doctor and told them I had not eaten, was still getting sick, had began running a fever and had green mucus coming out of my eyes. They said they could not see me until Tuesday. My parents decided to take me to the emergency room in Carroll County. The doctors there found fluid on my lungs. They did a chest x-ray and admitted us overnight for IV antibiotics. The next morning they did a sonogram and CT scan, they noticed a large tumor in my chest cavity and immediately transferred me to Sinai - Where doctors there confirmed it was an aggressive CANCER called NEUROBLASTOMA. After a few days at Sinai I was stable enough to go into surgery to put in a central line IV and chest tube to drain off the excess fluid and biopsy the tumor and my bone marrow. It came back that my cancer was stage 3, but my bone marrow had not been invaded.

Just to give you an update on Ashlyne.

Ashlyne starts another chemo treatment on Saturday. Unfortunately, her central line is infected with 2 different types of bacteria, which the Doctors are treating with antibiotics. however, she also has a yeast infection in her blood. This is something that can not be cleared up with her central line in place, so they will be taking out her central line IV on Friday and replace it with a temporary catheter line place in her arm. That will only stay in place a few days until chemo is done. The chemo is a five day cycle. Then after chemo, another permanent central line will be placed, if the yeast infection clears up. Please continue to pray for her, and send good thoughts her way.
