Hello Everyone

I just got off the phone with Rich and he wants me to pass along the news about Brady and give everyone a update.

Don't fear I have good news.

Brady had an MRI done today and this is the first real complete one that the doctor's have done since the surgery in February and the news is that THERE IS NO SIGN OF THE TUMOR OR GROWTH RETURN  YEAH.  Brady and the family are so relieved to hear good news and they wanted to share it with everyone.  It makes all this worth it !!

Brady is doing very well with his chemotherapy treatments of course he still has good and bad days and he blood counts are up and down but he is handling them like a real trooper.  And he remains positive and NOW has even more of a reason to smile from ear to ear.  His treatments will continue as of right now so he remain focused on the big picture and keep fighting.

Brady also would like to share some more good news that he got his wish from the Make a Wish Foundation so he will be preserving his energy this football season so that he can attend as many HOME REDSKIN GAMES as he possibly can and the REDSKINS said they will do there best to fatten him up while he watches them play.   Brady  got 2 season  tickets to  all home games and enclosed Box Seating so he will stay nice and warm while watching his team play right before his eyes.

Since Brady's counts are always questionable please keep that in mind when you give him a hug or a high five that he is always at risk.

Rich would like to thank everyone for there support and concerned care for Brady and the family they appreciate everything and feel truly blessed with such good news.

Thank you for love and support to the Long Family

Kim Smith

Brady is an eleven year old with the heart of a champion. Always with a smile on his face, Brady is the spirit of our team. He has been active in youth sports throughout his young life, until this past year when he was diagnosed with cancer. Doctors at Johns Hopkins removed a tumor from the base of his skull, which was determined to be malignant. Although the outlook was dire there were two things working in Brady’s favor: (1) Brady’s spirit and personality, and (2) doctors informed the family that they successfully removed the entire tumor. Brady, however, is not out of the woods as he has begun a twelve week regimen of radiation treatment that will be followed up by several months of chemotherapy. Brady’s teammates could always rely on him to be there for them and he continually and successfully locked down his cornerback position and defended the biggest vulnerability on the football field –the outside edge. No one beat Brady on his side of the field and he met everyone challenge head on without fail.

When Brady’s dad, Rich, told him of his prognosis his first reaction was to say, "Dad, what about football? Football is my life." His first thoughts were about the sport, game, and team that he loves. Rich told him that it just meant a year on the injured reserve list, which a lot of players do during their careers, and he could get back to LANCER football after his treatments. Brady will still be there for his teammates as he has accepted a coaching position on the team. But right now is the time when Brady needs his teammates the most as he faces the biggest battle of his young life. So we ask that each of you join our team, BRADY’S TEAM, and help him and his family during this difficult time. Now is the time we can all unite together as Lancers for one of our own --#56 Brady Long.

50/50 Rodeo Pictures

Hello everyone.

Attached are photos from Saturday night at the Rodeo with Brady and friends.
As mentioned below, $1068.00 was collected through the 50-50 drawing. That is a lot of tickets!

Photo 133 is of the boys rallying around the winner - who in turn, donated a portion of his winnings back to the cause. We were all moved by his charitable gesture! It really was a magical evening at so many levels!

In closing, I'd like to share a saying that is posted at the rodeo and the PPF (Patty Pollatos Fundraising site) . . .
